NEET All India Institute of Medical Sciences
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (NEET) was finally established in 1956, as an autonomous institution of national importance through an act of parliament and it conducted entrance test for the admission of students to the MBBS/BDS courses. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences shall last for a minimum 4 1/2 academic years plus a one-year compulsory internship.
The Institute (NEET, New Delhi) is a residential university in which the faculty members, staff and the students live on campus. There are 8 hostels for undergraduate students (6 for boys and 2 for girls) with a capacity to accommodate 562 students.

Test Pattern of NEET:
- The Online (Computer based test) entrance examination will be conducted in two shifts.
- Morning shift: 09:00 AM to 12:30 PM and afternoon shift : 03:00 PM to 06:30 PM.
- The NEET exam for MBBS course will have one paper consisting of 200 objective type (MCQs and A&R type) questions from physics-60, chemistry-60, biology-60, general knowledge and aptitude & logical thinking-20 questions.
- Total no. of MCQs are 200 and A&R type questions are 60.
- Each correct response will get a score of 1 mark and each incorrect response will get a score of -1/3 (minus one-third).
- Duration of entrance exam will be of 3 1/2 hours.
- The question paper will be provided either in english or in according to the choice of candidates .
Eligibility Criteria for NEET Exam
- The candidate should be a citizen of India.
- The candidate should have attained the age of 17 years as on 31st december of the year of admission.
- Candidates should have passed the 12th class under the (10+2) scheme/senior school certificate examination (CBSE) or Intermediate Science (I.Sc.) or an equivalent examination of a recognized university/board of any state with physics, chemistry and biology as subject.
- General and OBC candidates who have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in 4 subjects of english, physics, chemistry and biology are eligible for NEET test.
- For SC/ST/OPH candidates should have secured at least SC/ST= 50%, OPH=45% marks in aggregate of 4 subjects.
Minimum Cut-Off Scores:
The cut-off score was the lowest possible score a candidate needed to secure in order to qualify the entrance exam. In accordance with decision of the governing body NEET, New Delhi dated 26.11.2009 and the past practice adopted by NEET, New Delhi. The minimum cut off necessary in the entrance examination to determine eligibility for admission is: General Category: 50% | OBC (Non Creamy Layer ) : 45% | SC/ST: 40% | PWBD: cut-offs of the respective category.
