NEET-UG National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test

The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG will be conducted by the NTA from 2019 onwards. This test was being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) till 2018. NEET (UG) is applicable for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in India in medical/dental colleges run with the approval of medical council of India/dental council of India under the union ministry of health and family welfare, Government of India except for the institutions established through an act of parliament i.e. NEET and JIPMER Pondicherry.

The responsibility of the NTA will be limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and providing All India Rank to the directorate general health services, Government of India for the conduct of counselling for 15% All India Quota seats and for supplying the result to state/other counseling authorities.

What qualification is required to participate in NEET exam?
The student must have XII passed with physics, chemistry and biology. For general category 50% marks are required in all three subjects, 40% marks are required for reserved category.

What is the age limit for NEET exam?
At the time of admission a student must have a minimum 17 years of age or in admission year 17 year of age must be completed on 31st December. Maximum age limit for this exam is 25 years. 5 year age relaxation is given for reserved category (OBC/SC/ST).

What is the time duration of the NEET exam?
The time duration of this exam is 3 hours. Which is conducted at 02:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

What is the subject wise marks distribution of NEET exam?
Three subjects physics, chemistry and biology are included in this exam. Total marks are 720, physics contains 180 marks, chemistry contains 180 marks and biology contains 360 marks.

What do you mean by All India Quota Seats?
MCI (Medical Council of India) under controlled government medical and dental colleges seats, which is filled by DGHC via counseling is called All India Quota Seats.

2. 7.5% seats for ST category.
3. 27% seats for OBC category.

What is the NEET Exam Pattern?
The pattern of this exam is objective type. single choice, multiple correct question are asked in the question paper, whose answer is filled in OMR sheet by fill the right option circle.

What is state counseling and how many seats it has?
State counseling is conducted to fill 85% seats of state quota. State medical institute has the right to fill these seats.

No, we can't get admission in NEET /JIPMER by NEET exam. NEET exam is organized by NEET New Delhi. Which contains 200 marks. JIPMER exam is organized by JIPMER Pondicherry.
